My Review

This book was packed with a lot of first for me including my first read by Daryl Banner and my first m/m read as well. I will admit I was not sure if it would be my cup of tea, but the day I cracked this book open I was in need of something sweet, good, and true. I found it in this author's words as he brought Billy and Tucker's story to life with every turn of the page. Not to mention it brought a strong desire to break my diet and enjoy a bowl full of yummy ice cream as well. I truly look forward to reading more from Daryl Banner!! Because this was a definate five star read!

About the Author

Daryl Banner is an author and composer who graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Theatre and Psychology. He writes new adult romance, M/M romance, post-apocalyptic fantasy, and dystopian. He is most inspired by the smart and unlikely hero, but urges you (the reader) not to fall in love with them; they may deceive you with their innocence. 

Interesting tidbits: Daryl is also an obsessive piano player, video game enthusiast, and occasional actor. He's been remixing video game music for over fifteen years, and is a passionate Final Fantasy and Nintendo fan. You can feed your ears with many of his remixes (as well as his original music) on his YouTube page.

He also composes original soundtracks that accompany his books and series. You can listen to and download them on Bandcamp.

My Review

Much like a Phoenix, something strong and powerful can rise from the ashes. I very much enjoyed reading Phillip and Jessica's story. Even the rich and royal make mistakes. Traveling from page to page watching these characters grow and over come was astonishing. Well rounded characters and an intriguing plot has me secretly hoping they'll be more in this world. It'll be nice to hear how Henry is healing!

My Review

New author, new world with fascinating characters and some serious swoon worthy encounters! It has been awhile since I've sunk my teeth into a longer novel and I absolutely loved it. Such a fantastic page turner and thankfully just the beginning!!
